Earth Month at the Taproom

We’re marking Earth Month at the Taproom on April 8th with the return of two sustainability-brewed beers: Team Planet and Tractor Beer!

Team Planet is the passion project of our Taproom Head Brewer, Chris. Rebrewed for Earth Month, Team Planet uses a grain more sustainable than traditional barley: kernza. Kernza helps reduce agricultural erosion as it grows back year over year and develops a deeper root system that holds rich topsoil in place, whereas barely requires seeding annually. Kernza also uses less water and removes carbon from the atmosphere. With Team Planet, Chris is addressing sustainability in beer at the source. This refreshing German Pilsner clocks in at 4% ABV.

Similarly, Chris has created Tractor Beer with sustainability in mind. Utilizing drought-resistant hops and unmalted barley, the ingredients of this beer are less processed and therefore use less energy. The result is an American Light Lager at 4.2% ABV that’s a bready, crisp, and sessionable taproom exclusive.

Join us for the release of Team Planet and Tractor Beer on Saturday, April 8th. We’ll celebrate environmentally friendly brewing processes with pints of these light lagers and a Spring Market (11AM-3PM) featuring seven local craft vendors.

Team Planet and Tractor Beer will be available on draft and in growlers to-go. And to highlight our most sustainable beer packaging, you’ll receive a 20% discount on growler refills during the month of April.
